Scoring System

  • Normal aggregate score: 15
  • Record score in each domain (e.g. eye opening 4, motor response 6, verbal response 5)
  • When assessing, take into account dementia or a learning disability
  • A potentially awake but intubated patient is classified “T” in the verbal response domain
